I worked with URM Constructions to get a vertical crack repaired on our 110 year old basement foundation. The process was super easy to schedule. The overall time from initial quote submittal online to work being completed was 17 days. They communicated their arrival time with me and checked in during the day as work progressed. They left the area cleaner than when they arrived and even cleaned off my front steps which I appreciated. They were working in a pretty tight space but were able to make it work. The total cost was within the quote, would recommend.

I debated on a 4-star or 5-star rating. There were some challenges with this job, but in the end I would hire them again without hesitation (although heaven forbid I need foundation work ever in my lifetime!).

The bottom line is that URM Constructions does really solid work at a very reasonable price. They know what they are doing, and I take comfort that my house has been stabilized.

The challenges we ran into had to do with the complexity of my house’s foundation. Turns out, my foundation (1962) was placed directly on top of a prior foundation (no idea when that foundation was laid). This led to some cost overruns that weren’t communicated well. However, they stepped in and clarified things.

Also, if you’re going to get this work done, be prepared for a very disruptive job. As the saying goes, “If you want to make an omelette, you will need to crack some eggs.” It’s a noisy job that results in huge piles of dirt being everywhere! It will take me some work to put my yard back together.

So, foundation work is no joke. But these folks are worth getting a bid from.

The gentleman, that first came out to give us a quote was much more of an advisor versus someone just trying to make a sale, which was ultimately the reason we ended up going with this company. He was no BS and a straight-shooter. URM Constructions was able to schedule us ASAP. We had a WONDERFUL two-man crew. They were kind, hardworking, very professional and communicative. Very skillful.
